The Liepāja Symphony Orchestra invites you to celebrate the music of Mārtiņš Brauns. In 2026, when the outstanding Latvian composer would have turned 75, the concert programme acclaimed by audiences and critics, “Mārtiņš Brauns. A Song About the Game You Play”, returns to Liepāja.

On 10 October at the “Great Amber” Concert Hall, listeners can look forward to an emotionally charged symphonic music experience. Under the direction of conductor Andris Veismanis, the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, together with soloists Renārs Kaupers, Daumants Kalniņš and Ieva Kerēvica, will perform both poignantly melancholic and youthfully ironic songs that have won many hearts: “Dziesma par spēli”, “Daugaviņa”, “Dzied’ ar mani tautu meita”, “Es nesatiku”, “Lielais Alberts”, “Mīla ir kā uguns”, “Mūžīgā pilsēta” and others.

Emīls Zilberts’s masterfully crafted symphonic arrangements reveal the versatility of Brauns’s oeuvre, weaving popular music together with the nuances of classical music and offering an exciting journey into the musical world of the legendary Latvian composer.

The concerts “Mārtiņš Brauns. A Song About the Game You Play”, held in Liepāja in the summer of 2024, received widespread acclaim, were nominated for the prestigious Latvian Public Media annual culture award “Kilogram of Culture 2024,” and won the audience sympathy award in the “Event” category.

In autumn 2025, the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra also visited Cēsis, Rēzekne, Jelgava and Ventspils.
