On August 12, the Dutch drummer Damian de Muijnck will perform at Pegaza Pagalms. He has already established himself as a versatile musician — both through his project “SeptNoir Modern Jazz Trio”, as well as through his work as a teacher in various schools in the Netherlands and as a composer.

With a new sound, free improvisations, and a fresh perspective, Damian de Muijnck brings new life to contemporary jazz interpretation. The album has already received critical acclaim; Jazzenzo (Siriels Pluimeikers) described it as “one of the strongest Dutch jazz works of 2025.”

The concert in Latvia will feature a special lineup, with Damian joined by outstanding and internationally recognized Latvian musicians:

Marija Rebčinska — a double bassist and bass guitarist from Liepāja who is currently studying in the Netherlands. Her playing style combines the tonal depth of the double bass with the energy of the electric bass, creating a rich and nuanced sound.

Toms Rudzinskis — one of the leading jazz saxophonists and composers in the Baltic region, a laureate of several international competitions and winner of the Latvian Music Recording Award “Zelta Mikrofons” for Best Jazz Album (2024). While actively performing with his own projects (Abyss Quintet, Acoustic Quartet), he is also a sought-after guest artist, educator, and composer.

Together, the musicians will create a dynamic concert program filled with energy and refined musical dialogue, revealing both renewed interpretations of jazz classics and a fresh creative approach to music.
