The Edvards Landmanis Quintet, formed in 2025, brings together the traditions of jazz and funk music. The quintet was created among friends and like-minded musicians whose shared playing is characterized by mutual trust and a desire to create an organically flowing sound. The ensemble features musicians based in the Netherlands and Latvia, combining different musical experiences and influences.

They have already become active participants in the cultural life of Kurzeme, regularly performing at concerts and festivals. One of them is Ventspils Groove.

The quintet’s lineup includes trombone, saxophone, keyboards, bass, and drums, creating a layered and dynamic collective sound in which both group interaction and individual improvisation play an important role.
