 of academic music from the late 20th century. Vasks is a multiple rec
 ipient of the Grand Music Award\, including in 2025—for lifetime achi
 evement.</p>\n\n<p>Over the course of his creative life\, he has tran
 sformed from an avant-garde\, rebellious young author speaking the la
 nguage of modernist music into a grand painter of the eternal struggl
 e between good and evil\, using the principles of so-called “new simp
 licity” and a universally understandable musical expression.</p>\n\n<
 p>His compositions are not just sounds—they are stories about a world
  where love and hope struggle with fragility and pain. In this annive
 rsary concert\, the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra invites you to explore
  Vasks’s creative journey—from the experimental energy of the 1970s t
