New media art exhibition "Econauts" offer a new perspective on Liepaja waterlands in 8 audiovisual works, installations and data visualisations in Liepaja ZIIC Nature House.

Econauts follow the idea of "Deep Technology", which is derived from the ideology of "Deep Ecology" – they believe that technology allows a better understanding of the processes in nature, thus gaining empathy for natural phenomena and living beings. Econauts are inspired by scientific research and discoveries that do not romanticize or put nature in a dependent, threatening or otherwise distorted position towards man. At a time when man is becoming more and more detached from nature and nature is becoming more and more endangered, Econauts go into the wild armed with technology and scientific research to learn about other forms of existence and to pass on what they have recorded to the viewer.
