Juris Petraškevičs' solo exhibition features graphic works and drawings created in the author's technique. His knowledge as a professional visual artist is complemented by youthful curiosity and passion for experiments with form. The artist also improvises with traditional reproduction techniques, such as screen printing.
The laconic title of the exhibition, on the one hand, denotes omissions in the text, making it clear that the viewer will not be given any cues and that it is complicated to say or write anything about art at all. On the other hand, the title discreetly refers to the peculiarities of the perception of works of art: even though visual art is usually contrasted with temporal arts, such as theatre and music, the time dimension is also significant in the perception of the exhibition works.
He has won awards for book illustrations and animation films in Latvia and abroad. Art Academy of Latvia professor, head of the Visual Arts Department. Artist of the magazine "Rīgas Laiks".
Exhibition is open 04.06.-25.07.2021.
